Board of Directors

Iberian's Board of Directors is elected by the shareholders and is responsible for the stewardship of the business and affairs of the company. The Board seeks to discharge such responsibility by reviewing, discussing and approving Iberian's strategic planning and organizational structure and supervising management to oversee that the foregoing enhance and preserve the underlying value of the company.

Philippe Blavier

Philippe Blavier serves as Director of Foncière des VIe et VIIe Arrondissements de Paris and currently sits on the Board of Directors of three European private companies. Philippe has an extensive business experience and knowledge of the energy and commodities market, predominantly in the investment banking area.

Philippe retired as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking from BNP Paribas in 2006, where he had held various executive positions, including Member of the Executive Committee for 7 years. He was active in the commodities sector during his 25 years tenure at Paribas and then at BNP Paribas, where he marshalled the investment bank since the merger between Banque Nationale de Paris and Banque Paribas in 1999. Philippe graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds a D.E.S (Diplôme d’Études Supérieures) in Law. He is a Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur.

Norman E. Brewster

Norman Brewster serves as a Non-Executive Chairman of the Corporation.

Norman is a professional geologist and also currently holds directorships for International Mining Corp. (since 2005), Galantas Gold Corporation (since 2002), and Spider Resources Inc. (since 1999). Norman is also President and Chief Executive Officer of Cadillac Ventures Inc., and has been a director of Cadillac since 2007.

Norman holds a B.Sc. and a B.Ed. from Acadia University. He is also a P. Geo with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.

Jesus Fernandez

Jesus Fernandez has been a director since February 2008. He has been a part of the Trafigura Beheer B.V. team since 2004 and is currently a Manager of Trafigura’s Corporate Finance Team, with specialization in mining and downstream oil project investments. Jesus has more than 5 years of experience in the corporate finance market and assists on the structuring of financing packages and solutions for Trafigura’s clients worldwide. During the three years prior to joining Trafigura, Jesus was employed with International Power Plc in London as a project finance analyst.

Jesus holds an MA in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter and a Licenciatura (Economics) from the Universidad de Cantabria, Spain.

Lionel J. (Jack) Gunter

Jack Gunter has over 45 years experience in the mining industry. In addition to his activities with Iberian, he is a director and officer of Galantas Gold Corporation where he is Chairman and head of the audit committee. Previously, Jack was Managing Director of Rio Tinto Finance and Exploration (Riofinex) in London and prior to that with Phelps Dodge Corporation in North America. Jack has wide experience in the management of mining companies, and in analysing and evaluating mineral industry investments.

Jeremy Weir

Jeremy Weir is a Senior Executive of Trafigura Beheer B.V. having joined the Trafigura Group in January 2001 as head of metals derivatives trading, structured products and risk management. He has more than 20 years of experience in the metals and metal derivative markets. In addition, Jeremy is the CEO/CIO for Galena Asset Management and board member of the Trafigura Group. Prior to joining Trafigura, Jeremy spent almost 9 years with NMRothschild in Australia and the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for the establishment of the group's non-ferrous metals derivatives business and developed Rothschild's structured products. He was also a member of the group's treasury and banking executive management team.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree and is a Geology major from the University Of Melbourne, Australia.
